I purchased these socks beaucse I am a plus-sized woman and found that when I was practicing regularly the skin on my big toes would split from the focused strain of poses like Down Dog. I wouldn't notice at the time but afterward would have to put bandaids across the ball of my toe and would sometimes have to skip classes to let my toes heal. I decided to try these socks to see if they would provide the buffer my toes needed. I was also concerned that having something on my feet would be distracting to my practice. Plus: Great buffer between my feet and the mat. Stopped my pressure injuries right away. Negative: I did find they sometimes slip off my big toe during sun salutations and that can be distracting. A perfect solution to my problem and a most times I do not even notice I am wearing them.
